We would like to bring to your attention, an exciting creative event
taking place this week. Arte-Polis 3 International Conference, the
biennial gathering of creative champions from 5 continents at Bandung to
collaborate and share experiences on place-making, is on from the 22nd to

An initiative of the School of Architecture, Planning and Policy
Development at Institute of Technology, Bandung (ITB), Arte-Polis brings
together practitioners, academics, community leaders, government
officials, policy-makers and other professionals from diverse disciplines
and regions around the world concerned with the quality of life and
collaborative nature of creative communities in urban, rural and pastoral
places.
The International Conference Arte-Polis 3 focuses on the theme `Creative
Collaboration and the Making of Place: Learning from Shared Creative
Experiences’. Its aim is to share and learn from international and local
experiences regarding current issues, best practices and policy
implications of creative collaboration on place-making.
Keynote Speaker of Arte-Polis 3 International Conference is the
distinguished Prof. Nezar ALSAYYAD, Ph.D. – Professor of Architecture,
Planning, and Urban History at the University of California, Berkeley,
USA, where he currently serves as Chair of the University’s Center for
Middle Eastern Studies, and the Interim Director of International and Area
Studies. Dr. AlSayyad also serves as Co-founder/President of the
International Association for the Study of Traditional Environments
(IASTE).
Featured Speakers speaking at Arte-Polis 3 are Professor Eku WAND
(Braunschweig University of Art, GERMANY), Nancy MARSHALL, Ph.D.
(University of New South Wales, AUSTRALIA), Prof. Togar SIMATUPANG
(Institute of Technology Bandung, INDONESIA), Prof. Suhono H. SUPANGKAT
(Institute of Technology Bandung, INDONESIA), and Astrid S. HARYATI, MLA
(City and County of San Francisco, USA). Over 100 Papers that have passed
a rigorous Blind-Review process are eligible for presentation by authors
from 15 countries within the Conference’s six parallel Tracks, making
Arte-Polis 3 THE place for creative champions to network and share best
practices in creative collaboration and place-making.
