Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA) proudly announces the Architects Regional Council Asia 17th Forum 2013 (ARCASIA 2013) to be hosted in Kathmandu on October 6-10, 2013. As with previous ARCASIA congresses, the ARCASIA 2013 will celebrate the achievements of architects in its 18 member countries as well as in other countries in Asia by organizing paper presentations, posters and exhibits that will show case the emerging theoretical and analytical perspectives in Asian architecture, notable developments in contemporary architecture in Asia, and will offer an opportunity to discuss the future of Asian architecture. The theme of ARCASIA 2013 ‘Spirituality in Architecture’ and ‘Architecture and the Image of the City’ allows us to capture the essence of our historic and traditional architecture as well as the contribution of contemporary architecture in forming an image of the city. ARCASIA 2013 will consist of 17th ARCASIA Forum and 34th Council meeting. In addition, it will be an wonderful opportunity to see the natural beauty, historic and traditional architecture as well as emerging skyline of Kathmandu valley along with the Nepali hospitality. SONA is privileged to host this gathering and we look forward to welcome you in Kathmandu in October 2013.
